AFU is proud to announce that the U13 Elite Girls are Georgia State Cup Champions.
The girls fought to a 1-1 tie through regulation. The girls fell behind early in the second half but responded bravely with a goal in the 55th minute by Kyleigh Drew.
The game remained a tie during regular time and went into overtime. AFU battled and kept attacking in the extra time but could not get a goal. The game went into
PK shoot outs. The score was tied 2-2 after the first five shooters for both teams and the girls went to sudden death. AFU finally won it in the seventh round as
Gabby Daniels made her shot and Kelly Hall saved the UFA shot for the win.
Overall, the team, coached by Judas Kinchen, had a very successful tournament as the girls went undefeated in all of their matchups scoring 12 goals and
giving up only one.
They will now set their sights on the regional tournament which takes place in Greenville, South Carolina, at the end of June. Go Fire!
Congratulations to the Atlanta Fire 00/01 Boys for finishing as the finalist in the 2016 Georgia State Cup U15 Boys Division.
The team, led by Coach Mirza Mustafic, battled UFA 01 Premier in the final championship match. Although UFA 01 Premier prevailed, the AFU team has earned well-deserved recognition for reaching the championship stage of State Cup, defeating highly ranked National League and RPL teams along the way.
Both teams beat their opponent in the semi-finals and are now playing in the finals tomorrow June 5th.
The AFU U13 girls bested cross-town rival SSA Chelsea Elite this morning at State Cup Final Four at Georgia Southern University. The girls netted two goals in the first half - Jordan Monica with a header off of a corner kick in the 11th minute and then Danielle Lewin hit a left-footed blast in the 28th minute that scored off the right goal post. Kendall Page finished a penalty kick in the 61st minute to cap a 3-0 win. Kelly Hall, with the aid of a swarming defense, secured the shutout and a place in the State Cup Finals on Sunday at 11am.
UFA Premier beat Dacula Revolution 1-0 to earn a spot in the finals against AFU.

AFU Boys Elite 00/01 Heading to State Cup Championship! In a hard-fought game against Ambush U15 Red, the incredible AFU U15 Elite Boys beat Ambush in kicks from the mark. The team will play UFA U15 Premier for the state championship on Sunday, June 5th.

AFU is proud to have 2 teams that are going to the state cup Championship finals this past weekend in Statesboro GA.
U15 Boys Elite
The boys beat GA Rush 2-1, Concorde Fire South Black 4-1 and GSA 01 Premiere 1-0. GSA premier was ranked number 2 in the southeast region and #8 in the country.
U13 Girls Advance to State Cup Final Four
The Atlanta Fire United U13 Girls Elite Black team, coached by Judas Kinchen, advanced to Georgia State Cup Final Four this past weekend by winning their Group as a #6 seed. The girls outscored their first two opponents, Tophat Gold and Roswell Santos by a combined +8 goal differential with six different players finding the back of the net. AFU needed a win or a tie against #3 seed and local rival Concorde Fire North to advance to the Final Four and earned their spot with a 0-0 tie as a result of owning the “goal differential” tiebreaker. AFU is undefeated versus Concorde North over their past seven meetings, having given up one goal during that streak. During Group Play, goals were scored by: Bree Barley, Danielle Lewin (3), Jordan Monica, Kendall Page, Larsyn Reid and Andrea Riddle; Kelly Hall posted three shutouts.
AFU will resume play in the State Cup Final Four with a match against #7 seed SSA Chelsea Elite on Saturday, June 4th.#4 seed UFA Premier will play #9 seed Dacula Revolution Premier. The State Cup Championship will be held on Sunday, June 5th.
The girls observed Memorial Day by visiting the National Infantry Museum & Soldier Center located in Columbus, GA, just outside Fort Benning.
